A LETTER TO THE MOON


Dearest Moon,

As I gazed upon your bright shiny face that night, slowly I begin to wonder if you ever realized how much you mean to me. You are so inspiring; I can never resist your moonlight. Who can anyways?

I envy you, dear moon. You are never alone. You have dazzling beautiful stars all around you, ready to be at your service. If only I could be there with you, if only I could be one of your lucky stars, I would be grateful to brighten you with my little light till it burns away.

Alas, a dream will only remain a dream. You are too far beyond my reach. You are indeed my unreachable, my untouchable moon. My wings aren’t strong enough to take me to you. What is left for a swan like me is only to have your glittering reflection upon my dark, mysterious lake. And wherever your moonbeam falls, that is where you will find me, that is the nearest I could get to you.

Happy Birthday Beloved PM

Today is his 69th birthday. When asked what does he want for his birthday, he replied, "nothing expensive". A very humble person he is. That is one of his many good qualities. The following short and simple poem is dedicated to this humble and respected man, though the person himself may not read it. Nothing expensive from me. My jackets are made of leather, My cups are made of porcelain clay, Storm or sunshine, any kinds of weather, May the Lord bestows upon you a blissful and prosperous birthday! It is sad to know the hardship you have gone through in your political life, but at the same time I am impressed with your strong personality in facing those calamities. Malaysian Heritage

Dr Jaya was absolutely right. Staying in Melaka is definitely not boring at all. There are a lot of things to do, many things to see and many historical places to visit. I had a great time spending my weekends there. Since I decided not to go back to KL during weekends, I made plans with Zurina and Wazir to visit some of the beautiful places here. Melaka is a nice place to visit. I love watching the sunset at Klebang beach, window shopping at Mahkota Parade, eating “mee hoon basah” at the RR stall near our home, driving round the Melaka city at night with my friends, dinner at Anjung Batu…simply love the “ikan bakar”…ohhh so many things to tell and to share with. During one of the weekends, my friends and I visited one of the most popular attractions in Melaka that is the Taman Mini Malaysia. It is situated approximately 16 killometres from the city.
